Member Application

Please accept this letter as an invitation to join or renew your membership with Utah NAHRO. For over 40 years, Utah NAHRO has been part of a proud tradition that is committed to help create a state in which all people have decent, safe, affordable housing and economic opportunity in viable, sustainable communities. Utah NAHRO is an affiliate of a national organization which has helped communities since 1937. Together, our members are responsible for providing homes for low-income individuals and families, contributing to the creation of communities and changing lives.

Benefits to members include:

Professional Development

Utah NAHRO offers relevant training and an annual conference designed specifically for housing and community development professionals. These sessions provide education, information and tools to support affordable housing and healthy communities. Members attending NAHRO sponsored trainings saved approximately $300-$700 pertraining. Utah NAHRO is also a proud sponsor of the Utah Homeless Summit and Utah Housing Coalition’s Housing Matter’s Conference.

Advocacy

Utah NAHRO is committed to representing your interests at the State and National level. Utah NAHRO will advocate for appropriate laws, adequate funding and responsible public policies that address the needs of the people served; are financially and programmatically viable for our industry; are flexible, reduce regulatory burdens; and promote local decision-making. Utah NAHRO has contracted with Steve Erickson to provide support in assuring that the interests of affordable housing providers and community development programs are represented during the 2018 Utah Legislative session.

Networking

Utah NAHRO members have access to a wide variety of individuals with specialized and successful skillsets. Members find it helpful to connect with others who have experienced similar housing and community development challenges. Creating housing and revitalizing neighborhoods is complex, difficult work. It requires a strong commitment in the face of resistance, funding uncertainty and bureaucratic and regulatory burdens. Partnerships are crucial to the success of this effort. I believe we can do far more together than alone. Together we are strong.

I hope you will join us. Please feel free to contact me with any ideas, questions or concerns at 801-284-4472 or [email protected] With Regards, Lori Pacheco President –Utah NAHRO
