2024 Poster Contest

      Contest Dates: February 1, 2024 – April 1, 2024.

                                                    Mailed submissions must be postmarked by 4/1/24

      Details:   Contest participation is open to all children residing in affordable housing assisted directly or supported under community development and affordable housing programs administered by a Utah NAHRO member agency (i.e.; Public or Section 8 assisted housing, CDBG, HOME, LIHTC).

 

                     Entries will be judged at the Regional level. One winning entry from each category will be forwarded to the National competition.

 

                     Age categories of competition: Elementary - K to 5th grade; Middle – 6th to 8th grade; and High – 9th to 12th.

 

Poster Specifications:

·             Theme - "What Home Means to Me"

·             Size – All posters must be 22"x28"

(participants may email a picture of the poster for judging. National winners will need to submit the original poster)

·             Contestant may use any art media (marker, crayon, paint, collage, textiles, etc.)

·             Short Narrative (100 words or less) explaining theme

·             Submission must be created by only one person. Entries created by two or more people will not be accepted.

 

Prizes:       Utah NAHRO will provide $100 Visa Gift Cards for first place winners in the three age categories.

12 National honorees will receive a $100 Visa gift card. The grand prize cover winner will receive an iPad and a framed copy of their original art work. The cover winner and one legal guardian will also receive a tour of Capital Hill and attend NAHRO’s Washington Conference in Washington, D.C. where he or she will be honored.
